Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 11cm
Snowfall at base this season 134cm

Bonjour skieurs et snowboardeurs,

11 cm of new snow, and very fwuffy. Brushes right off the car. It's not ideal, but 10 cm here and 10 cm there and it eventually adds up.

Big news today is that the groomers are working on the G1 run, so maybe Kitanomine will open on the 21st. The run formerly known as Giant (now called the very clever G3) still has lots of bush still sticking out, so definitely need some more for full operations. The resort snow report (aka The Man) says the depth at the base is 40 cm (on top is allegedly 105 cm), and I basically agree with that. We have snow, it is snowing every day, but it really hasn't built up that much. Dribs and drabs.

Ten more shopping days until Christmas.

Think snow.

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Furano.
