It has started snowing again this morning though, and coming down quite nicely at the moment as I am writing this report. Varying visibility at the moment as the snow clouds move in, and a bit of fog in places by the looks. Snow showers forecast through into tomorrow. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Blue skies over Shiga Kogen this morning, with the clouds maybe clearing up sooner than we expected them to. But we did have a bit of a wild night with snow coming down and strong winds. It's much calmer now though. I was just over at Ichinose and saw hundreds of ski school students warming up which certainly was a sight. Wouldn't like to be queueing up behind all them! Fairly easy to avoid though and lots to choose from here. OK back to conditions. New snow refresh and nice weather means it should be a very good morning here. Looks like we might see quite a bit of sun over the next few days. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Just a thin dusting of snow overnight and this morning lovely blue skies over Shiga Kogen. After a bit of a warm up yesterday it's a cold morning though we are expecting mild again tomorrow, to be followed by snow into Friday. We seem to be up and down with temps at the moment and the forecasts are all a bit vague. Of course, what we like best is when it's clearly going to puke down over the area... though we don't seem to have any of that on the horizon at the moment. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Snow, wind, fog and poor visibility this morning in Shiga Kogen. A bit of a wild one at times though forecast to calm down later on in the day, and it should be clearer tomorrow. Warmer on Sunday but we are hopeful that we can maybe avoid the rain that lower regions seem destined to get. After the few days of milder conditions winter should be back come Tuesday. While that might not make for the best of conditions for those here wanting to ski or board, the refresh we are currently getting is most welcome. Nice light snow is falling heavily (if that makes sense!) at the moment, and a strong wind is blowing it all around as well. Visibility is poor. It's all a bit wild out there. It's as if the Snow Gods are apologising for the lack of snow the last few...! Some lifts are affected by the wind now and not moving. Once it calms down, conditions should again be good. But more snow while we're here ok? (Though the forecast says it should ease off fairly quickly, to be back for the weekend). The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Clear and sunny this morning but getting more overcast with it mid morning. Something of a contrast with yesterday. We are looking at a few days now of warmer conditions. Tomorrow possibly even into positive numbers. They should be right back down into minus double digits by Tuesday though and a decent chance of some good snowfall to follow. I would expect today to be busier than tomorrow as people might have been put off by the forecasts for a possibly wet day tomorrow. It seems we might avoid that now but it's all up and down at the moment and hard to read. It is colder this morning thankfully and a dusting of new snow so it does feel more winter like, but we need it to be colder still and definitely want more snow. Light snow is falling at the moment and snow showers are likely through the day and fingers crossed tomorrow too. Clearer conditions are likely around Thursday and Friday and while Saturday might get slightly warmer, snow is forecast. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Interesting weather this morning. After some new snow overnight, it's mixed at the moment. The sun is out here in Maruike, but it is snowing lightly (soon to stop I expect). There's lots of cloud around. My guess is that it is going to continue to clear up leaving us with more sun than snow for today. Tonight the snow clouds are forecast to move back over the region and it should be snowing for the day tomorrow perhaps into Sunday. Snow has started falling again after a clearer very early morning and for the moment visibility is good and there's just a light wind. More snow yesterday and earlier this morning too but for now lots of the clouds have moved on and we have nice blue skies over us and the sun shining down. Looks like it should be a fine day, and we are ok with that as we have the fresh snow to enjoy as well. Tomorrow will probably be sunny too. National holiday time and so if it seems a bit busier than usual for a weekday - that's the reason! Talking of which, the snowy weather in Tokyo and other areas over the weekend prevented lots of people getting up here. The situation seems to be back to normal now. It's really coming down. I would guess already about 5-10cm this morning. Suitably snowy and mid-wintery, and we can hope that it continues to snow all of the day today and bring us a nice new fresh layer. Limited visibility as you might expect due to the snowfall. But we are still in a good winter mode here. It should keep cold again today but less snow is forecast for today and after today we might be looking at a run of clearer conditions. Tuesday is a national holiday in Japan, so will be busier than a normal weekday.
