Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 161cm

Posted on Sunday 8th December 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

Best day of the early season so far yesterday with more terrain open and that fresh coating of snow to enjoy, with it snowing for most of the day in the end.

Nice conditions to be found up top as well.

And I have another 10-15cm of snowfall to report since yesterday as well as further openings including the Gondola at Niseko Village - which actually started yesterday, but I didn't have that information in time for the report. Grand Hirafu also now have a 'Mini Park' open on the lower slopes of the Shirakaba course.

The mountain is still 100% fully open, but it's getting more like it now. Snow is still coming down with poor visibility on the mountain. But I'm sure most of you will agree, that's good!

Lots more please.
