Madarao Kogen reporting up to 30cm of fresh in places on the mountain; more like half of that on the cars and outside my place at base. Still, a nice new layer of snow along with cold temperatures so it should be a good morning. Limited visibility due to the snow continuing to fall. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Fresh snow! Resort reporting 20cm of snow on the mountain this morning and nearly that down at base areas too. Lots of cloud still around but it's now snowing just now and there's even a bit of sun sneaking in there at times. Forecast is for the snow to stop and leave us with generally cloudy conditions today and then more sun tomorrow. Back to snow Sunday night with some significant refreshes due through Monday and possibly beyond. Early on this morning before the lifts get going the resort is reporting over 30cm of fresh delivery, and I can vouch for large amounts down here at base as well. It is going to be a good day. Got to wrap up good as it's still snowing and it's cold... limited visibility as well. Sorry, I'm in Tokyo this morning but still here to post a report coming to you courtesy of a phone call with a friend who is up there and reporting to me. And from the sounds of it, the snow has stopped, things have calmed down and the sun is out over the mountain. The webcam definitely confirms that, looks like it's mostly blue skies at Madarao and this Monday morning conditions should be great after the snow of the weekend. No snow reported by the resort overnight but about 10cm to note since the report yesterday morning apparently. More clearer skies tomorrow to be followed by a return to snow clouds as we get into early Wednesday. Topups set to continue. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . As I write this report the sun is shining down on lots of the resort, but there's also quite a bit of cloud around the summit. Just a bit of snow since yesterday (and 5cm reported by the resort) but a bit on the wet side - certainly not as light and fluffy as we know it can be. Temps remain below zero now but it's going to get milder again during the day. Hoping for snow later today and overnight to let me give you some nice news tomorrow. Actually the resort coming back and posting 40cm as the official number. 30cm is what I can observe. Both good though. Thank you very much, where do I sign for it?! (And I sign for it do I have first go?) ;) The storm continues with a moderate wind and snowfall this morning but perhaps it'll calm by this afternoon.
