The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Good Morning Skiers & Boarders, All that promising snowfall yesterday added up to only 3 cm of snow. It's just the way this winter has been. The resort is reporting 10 cm, so who knows what they are smoking. I will grant you there is always more falling on top, but we don't measure there, do we? That's not the SnowJapan way. The Great Warming Event 2025 is still on for tomorrow. There will be astounding temps of up to 8+ C, thankfully for one day only. I look at it as a great chance to get rid of some of those pesky hard snow spots around my parking space. There should also be some huge roof slides happening, so stay aware of where you're walking. Tomorrow's checklist: *Universal wax *Tanning oil *Swimsuit or shorts *Zany helmet cover *Your light gloves *Sunglasses Enjoy. Think snow. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . Good morning from Hakuba. A mild day yesterday, warming up to about 4.5C in the village. Variable weather going on at the moment and not as warm this morning. It's sunny down here at my base and I can see blue skies, but it is also snowing every so slightly. And we did actually get a thin layer of snow in places earlier on, nearly 2cm on my car, but it has cleared up in the last hour or so. It looks like it is still snowing at higher elevations, though visibility looks ok. While we may get some snow today, we are due to be back to clearer skies from tomorrow and a mild period that will run through until perhaps Sunday. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 4cm Snowfall at base this season 461cm Posted on Wednesday 26th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Good Morning Skiers & Boarders, It's a wonderful snowy day here in Furano. It's been snowing since I got up, and we've got 4 cm of new snow so far. If this keeps up, we should have much more by tomorrow. It's quite windy today, so I won't be surprised if they stop the Gondola. It's already on slow speed, which is one step before closing. At slow speed, it can take up to 45 minutes to get to the top. Ask me how I know. You really want to do that? My advice would be to stay on the lifts. Strangely, according to the Internets, it was warmer at 5 AM than it is now. Fine with me, as it was above freezing and now it's not. Anyways, it's supposed to snow most of the day (promises, promises), but we'll just have to wait and see. The Great Warming Event of 2025 is still forecast for Friday, with a projected high of +8 C!! My universal wax is ready to go. It's supposed to be partly sunny that day, so it should actually be very nice. Get ready to work on your tan. Keep up the good work. Think snow. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here . A cloudless blue sky; not something we see very often in Myoko, at least this month! It’s nice and warm, too, after a pretty cold night. There are a lot of buildings around town that are absolutely covered with snow (easy to see the unoccupied places). The sun helps a lot in getting some of that weight reduced, or off the roofs entirely. One roof we were clearing off yesterday had a layer of heavy blue ice under there, so not just heavy but dangerous as well. Luckily we got the snow out without breaking windows or removing tiles (or hurting the roof itself). The snow has also kept some lifts from running, too, even when the websites tell us all is ok. I heard that Suginohara's gondola was not running a few days ago (and people weren’t pleased with the normal lift option, which is not the fast way up the hill).
