The latest Furano Now report can be found here . At base level the winds are very strong and this has meant the resort will not operate the Kitanomine Gondola. It is snowing lightly and sideways due to the wind. There is 2cm of accumulation on the ground. Snow is expected to continue through the day. It is -5c now, but will warm to +1c and that snow may turn into rain for a brief spell around midday. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Good morning Sunday! It is a very nice morning with perfect blue sky all around. As usual with blue sky, the temperature is extremely cold, and is -19c at base at the time of this report. However the high will be significantly warmer at around -2c early afternoon. There is no wind, and smoke from chimneys is rising vertically. Snow conditions are packed powder. It is a clear morning with high cloud and large breaks letting in that early sunshine. The mild weather of yesterday is still with us and the high temperature today will be -3c. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is -6c this morning and will be a pretty warm day with the high expected to hit -1c. Cloud is low on the resort and visibility is limited from halfway up the mountain. There is very light snow precipitation with an accumulation of around 2cm overnight. Night skiing is in Furano Zone Prince Romance lift until 7:30pm. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . There has been another light layer of fresh snow since yesterdays report that amounts to 4cm. There is low cloud over the resort this morning with a light wind and very fine snow falling. It will stay a reasonably cold day with -13c at the moment and rising up to a peak of -9c. Night skiing is operating on the Furano Zone side until 7:30pm on the Prince Romance chairlift. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is good too see some fresh snow again with 5cm on the ground this morning. There is high cloud over the town and some clouds rolling down the top of the resort. Visibility is not the greatest at the moment but still okay. The temperature is -13c and it will hit a high of -9c later on. More light snow is expected over the next few days. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . A further 9cm of new snow was received yesterday. The Link Lift is back in action after mechanical trouble yesterday. It is snowing very lightly with no wind around the base area. There is low valley cloud on the resort, and combined with the snow falling, visibility is likely to be compromised. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The Link Lift is closed today due to mechanical failure. It was very warm with the high hovering around 0c. Today is -6c and heading for a high of -4c. The snow will be frosty on the lower half of the mountain due to yesterday's warmth. It is snowing lightly with 5cm of accumulation overnight. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is good to see more snow hit the resort and this morning I have measure 7cm at base level. Warm temperatures have arrived with the snow and certainly at town level the snow is wet and heavy, and not the usual light central Hokkaido powder. It is -3c at the moment and heading up to a high of 0c. Visibility is limited at higher elevations with low cloud and light snow. The lower mountain is okay for visibility. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . A very Merry Christmas from Furano. Well, yesterday was a tropical blip with +3c temperatures warming things up and bringing with it a period of moderate rain. That warmth has gone and we are back to the cold temperatures with daily snow expected over the next week. There has been 8cm of fresh snow overnight. Weather conditions are clear with high broken cloud and we may see more snow in the afternoon. Snow conditions will be fresh overnight powder on top of a frosty base caused by yesterdays warm blip. All lifts on both sides of the mountain are operating except for the Kitanomine Snow Escalator. Santa is usually out for a ski on Christmas day with sweets for the kids - keep an eye out. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Furano has received a good dump of 21cm of new snow overnight. It is still snowing moderately and forecast to continue through the day. This amount of snow should help the resort get closer to opening up some more runs in the near future. Furano Zone is open with the Furano Ropeway operating for uploading and downloading to the upper mountain. The open courses are D1 (800m) and D2 (740m). At this stage is not possible to ski back the base area, so you will be required to use the Ropeway to return. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . There was a burst of snow in the late afternoon yesterday and it has left a very light dry layer of 6cm of new snow at base level. I would expect this to result in 10-15cm at the top of the resort. The weather is looking great for the morning period as well. There is a thin layer of cloud and plenty of bright sunlight coming through. From midday more snow is forecast which will roll through tomorrow as well. Piste conditions will be light fresh snow on a firm base.
