The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Today the wind is severe and you will need to check with the resort for the latest status of lift operations. As this report is posted it is most likely the wind is too strong for operation of the lifts. As we are in the final stages of the season, the skiing is limited to the upper part of the Furano Zone, with Furano Ropeway for uploading and downloading access. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Furano Ski Area is now closed for the season. Sunday May 8 was the last day of operation, so we made it all the way through to the end of Golden Week. It has been a long and enjoyable season but all good things must come to an end, and it is finally good to be able to put a protective layer of wax on the skis and put them into storage for a few months. This was another season of great snow conditions with plenty of powder on and off piste. The season was another where the international skiers could not come but it already looks promising for a return to normality before next winter, in terms of Japan's borders opening up to tourism again. Just a reminder that there is a wealth of interesting snow statistics available in Furano Now, both for this season and past winters. That's it from Furano Now for a few months while we enjoy the green season. We will be active and updating here again later in the year as winter approaches. A trickle of snow is coming down from the sky and the forecast does show that snowfall is expected to remain throughout the day. It is cloud cover above, no significant breeze at base, and visibility is okay. It is -7c which is close to the high of the day -5c.
