The clouds have dispersed for the most part and we are left with a sunny, bright morning here in Yuzawa. It's mostly blue skies with some very thin wispy like clouds remaining in places this morning.

It is a foggy, cloudy morning in Yuzawa with light snow falling in places. Just a dusting really around town with resorts telling of up to 5cm or so of new snowfall. It didn't dip below 0C overnight so rather mild and at the moment it is still around 0C in town.

Very sorry for the lateness of this report today. We have had a few technical issues today that has affected some of our reports. Anyway, it has generally been a snowy day here.

Not much new snow since yesterday in the end. In fact, the skies cleared up in the afternoon somewhat and it was a beautiful clear evening in Yuzawa and neighbouring Minamiuonuma valley.

Yes this feels like Yukiguni. Snow Country deserving weather conditions since yesterday and up to 50cm of fresh snow being reported from around town this morning. Strong winds at time yesterday though probably not as mad as we were expecting.

About 25cm on the car this morning, parked in the Ishiuchi area just outside the border of Yuzawa and some nice wintery conditions. I am hearing stories from people to the north of us in Uonuma and further north who are telling of more stormy conditions, but for now here in this part of the prefecture it's a slight to moderate wind, perhaps picking up over the last 30 minutes or so.

Thankfully we look like we are headed back into winter weather. Snow started falling early this morning and there's 5-10cm or so in places now on the ground. It's eased off just for the moment but due to be with us for the day.

We did see some of the sun yesterday in the end but we are going to see a lot of it today. Blue skies above Yuzawa and Minamiuonuma early this morning and it will probably stay like that for most of the day.

So it was a mix of sleet and rain yesterday in town, wet snow at times, but by evening things were holding off - when I was outside anyway.

This morning it has been raining/sleeting/snowing and right now we have wet snow falling from the skies in Yuzawa. Better than wet rain, though with it likely getting a bit warmer during the day - a high of around 4 degrees C is forecast, while at the moment it is around +2 - we may well be getting rained on later.

This morning actually started off very bright with the sun shining down. It felt like it was going to be one of those days when the remaining clouds disperse and we are left with clear beautiful skies. For the first few hours of ski resorts being open it was like that, but around mid morning think cloud quickly started to form in the sky and very soon it was rather cloudy.

Yesterday was one of those days when conditions change very quickly. The morning was lovely. Clearing up with some beautiful blue clouds over the town and just a few clouds around. Afternoon was a different story though. Clouds gathered and snow started to fall. And it's still falling this morning. And there's a decent amount of new snow on the ground to show for it as well.

Perhaps another 20cm or so since yesterday, though a bit difficult to tell with the wind and some places looking more stacked than others. I had to move up to 15cm off the car this morning here in Minamiuonuma and there was some on there yesterday as well....

Yes the snow has been coming down hard overnight and we wake to a very snowy morning in Yuzawa. Strong winds were blowing about later on in the evening yesterday and the snow started falling. There must be about 30cm of new snow here in town areas and more on the mountain.
