Some very light snow is falling right now (here in Hasuike), but at the same time.

It was a very cold start to the day and has been a cold morning in Shiga Kogen. The sun is out.

After the fine weather we had yesterday, snow started up again early this morning and heavy snow warnings are out.

A little dusting of snow to report with a cloudy morning. Earlier snow easing off - it is not snowing now as I look outside my place.

It's keeping really cold but this morning the clouds have been clearing and the sun is out.

Stormy conditions this morning in Shiga Kogen - snow, wind, poor visibility.

We had a break in the snowfall yesterday for a while but it's back in style this morning.

Lots of fresh snow. 50cm, more or less depending on where you are and if the wind has got to it.

I am measuring 19cm of fresh snow this morning. It is snowing now and coming down at quite the pace.

Moderate snowfall as we approach 9am and the kind that feels like it is going to be building up nicely.

It is cloudy at the moment but there is a thin layer of fresh snow to report since yesterday once those clouds moved in later in the day.

A mix of weather yesterday that included that rain. It is not something that we expect here in January.

I'm happy to report that the decent snowfall I mentioned might happen in my last report has happened.
