Some snowfall to report this morning - just a bit and depending on where you are in the valley either none on the ground or a slight dusting.

Good morning and a cheery hello from Hakuba. Welcome to the 16-17 (pre-) season!

And so yesterday - Tuesday 3rd May - ended up being the last day of the 2015-2016 ski season here in Hakuba.

And the big news is that today is going to be the last day of the season for Hakuba Happo-one, Hakuba 47 and Hakuba Goryu

It's the first day of Golden Week today as we enter the last bit of the last bit of the season.

It was a decent morning but rain started falling early in the afternoon yesterday, as expected.

What are you going to be doing today then? There's no ski lifts moving this morning as far as I can tell due to strong winds.

Hurray! We got snow!

After the mostly cloudy but warm weather of yesterday, it's raining this morning both here at base and up top too, as we expected really.

After the decent weather in the morning, we got some light rain starting to fall later in the day yesterday... boooo!

More snow falling on mountain yesterday during the day. I spent a bit of time at 47 where visibility was rather limited while I was up there, and it kept pretty cold too.

Well, well, well! Snow started falling around mid afternoon yesterday to everyone's delight.

What a beautiful day it was yesterday. A stunner right through the day.
