Snow clouds are hanging over Hakuba this morning with only the lower areas of mountain visible right now, but by the looks of the webcams visibility on the mountain is fairly decent though variable in places.

The wet stuff changing into snow in the afternoon yesterday.

Well, we did get some snow falling yesterday morning and I feel we all deserve a little added to the report to represent that

I have 8cm to report from base.

It is a beautiful morning. The sun is out, there are lovely blue skies and the Hakuba mountains are looking stunning.

There was lots of blue sky and sunshine yesterday, but this morning lots of cloud around --- and up to 20cm of snow being reported from the ski resorts

It's very good to see lots of white this morning.

A light covering of snow down in the village this morning.

A very good one it is - the first day of the ski season, in fact!

Excellent news this afternoon - some ski lifts will be moving from tomorrow morning.

It's not crazy cold, but snow is falling and there is a few cm on the ground in base areas and hopefully there will be much more to come over the next few days.

That first layer of snow down to the village is always a lovely sight.

Some very light snow lazily falling down to near base areas at times yesterday and this morning snow can seen down close to lower areas, not quite down to the village.
