Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 35cm

Posted on Thursday 2nd January 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

Snow clouds are hanging over Hakuba this morning with only the lower areas of mountain visible right now, but by the looks of the webcams visibility on the mountain is fairly decent though variable in places.

From this morning all of the main courses at Hakuba 47 are now open (though note that the tree run courses are not yet available).

It also looks like nighta on the lower Toomi area of Hakuba Goryu will be available from tonight, 6:00pm - 9:30pm.

The Maruyama quad and Tsugaike Central triple lifts are also now operating.

I'm trying my best to keep up with all the information each morning (and updating the details below). So I am particularly liking the look of the current forecast for tomorrow night and over into late Saturday and Sunday. Come on nature, give us what we want!

There's a lot of people around now for the New Year holidays. I'm sure most of us wouldn't mind a bit of a snowstorm...
