Independent snow and weather reporting from the Zao region of Yamagata
New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 336cm
Posted on Wednesday 8th February 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here.
We've started off mostly sunny (where it left off yesterday) although there is a misty patch over the summit and extending down to Kurohime.
The West facing slopes (ie looking towards the base) are gradually getting the sun, however, there are darker clouds in the opposite direction in the other side. As it should start to snow lightly later on, these could be drifting over.
We had a light dusting last night which is extremely light like talc which can be blown away by mouth. Not enough for anything exciting but still nice under foot. A bit more tonight but nothing significant.
