Morning from Zao.
Rain yesterday, holding off just now but the chance of some snow today apparently. It's pretty cold, certainly not what we expect over Golden Week.
The Chuo Number 2 lift is opening up for the start of the Golden Week period.
Sunny skies are forecast from tomorrow for a few days.
The Zao Echo Line road is now open!
Official snow depths (as reported by resort):
- Summit area: 60cm
- Paradise area: 80cm
- Chuo area: 80cm
- Utopia area: 100cm
- Uwanodai area: 50cm
- Oomori area: 0cm
Course areas currently remaining open:
- Summit/Juhyo area (part)
- Chuo
- Utopia (part)
These are the planned lift closing dates as stated by the resort. There may be slight variations and they are also of course subject to change depending on snow conditions. Please check with the resort before going.
Operating until 6th May:
- Chuo Number 1 pair
- Chuo Number 2 pair: operating on 27th, 28th, 29th April, 3rd-6th May
Operating as long as snow allows:
- Utopia Number 2 pair
