Independent snow and weather reporting from the Zao region of Yamagata

New snowfall at base 9cm
Snowfall at base this season 140cm

Posted on Monday 26th December 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here.

After so many days it feels strange to have no snow falling. Light falls may come during the day but nothing meaningful.

It is foggy on the mountain with variable visibility higher up, however, below the mountain are blue skies. It should, therefore, clear up a bit with a good potential for sunny patches. We'll see.

Wind is still likely here and there higher up which will be pushing the clouds in and out
