Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this seas 1243cm

Posted on Monday 7th April 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

It is Monday morning and we start the week with cloudy/overcast skies. There seems to be a chance that we might get some sun later on but it's not going to warm up much over around 10C in town. It will probably be warmer and sunnier tomorrow.

Three ski areas remain open in the region. Kandatsu Snow Resort is hoping to be open for another week and then GALA Yuzawa and Kagura plan to continue into May.

Check the list below for details of what remains open. A few more details have been added from today. The information will continue to be checked with official information sources and updated as necessary every morning.

Please note that a few ski areas might continue with sightseeing or 'playing in the snow' activities over the coming weeks. For example, Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway is open for sightseeing and also offering an area called 'Snow Experience in Spring' (sledding etc). This report will concentrate only on skiing/snowboarding activities.
