Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 13cm
Snowfall at base this seas 590cm

Posted on Thursday 30th January 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

Fresh snow to report!

Here is what ski areas are reporting:

Yuzawa Kogen: 20cm

Maiko Snow Resort: 10-20cm

Kagura: 15cm

Our own measurement is 13cm. Maybe not as 'full on' and as much as we were expecting and hoping for, but this fresh layer is most welcome. It should have refreshed runs out there.

Further snow is forecast into tomorrow, so let's hope it continues to build up.

At time of report, there is some sun peeking through clouds in places.

Kagura is not opening the top Number 5 pair lift due to windy conditions up there.

In other news, it looks like Naeba has re-opened that top Takenokoyama lift.
