Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this seas 917cm

Posted on Sunday 29th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

Yesterday was sunny, bright light blue/white skies - typical warm spring weather, getting up to 17C in town.

Today will probably be similar kind of weather. We might get some sun tomorrow morning too, though there might be some rain later on.

Today is the last day of the snow season for the following ski areas:

- Iwappara

- Maiko Snow Resort

- Muica Snow Resort

- Muikamachi Hakkaisan

- Nakazato Snow Wood

- Yuzawa Nakazato Snow Resort

The following ski areas seem intent on sticking it out on a limited basis until Tuesday (31st):

- Ipponsugi

- Naspa Ski Garden

- Yuzawa Park

There's only a very small amount of snow left in my garden in a shaded corner. That will surely be gone sometime in the next few days.
