Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 627cm

Posted on Saturday 22nd February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

It didn't really stop snowing for long yesterday, though this morning we have around 10cm or so of fresh snow outside. Resorts in town seem to be reporting around that number, with Kagura coming up with 15-20cm.

It's still snowing as well at 9:30am, so not clearing up just yet here like in other neighbouring areas... perhaps later today, very probably by tomorrow.

Good that we are getting the fresh snow in though as once this clears up it'll the skies that should be clear. Clear and sunny and gradually warming up as well. Tuesday onwards the forecast is looking decidedly 'too warm' and well clear above the zero point.

That's next week though. For the moment it's very good conditions and should be a good weekend.

(Roads and trains running as normal!)
