Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this seas 864cm

Posted on Saturday 14th February 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

Fine weather yesterday, particularly in the first half of the morning, with more cloud around in the afternoon.

This morning we start with almost clear skies. As expected it will be a sunny morning (perhaps more cloudy this afternoon) and sunny through tomorrow. Light southerly wind and excellent visibility.

Expect temps to rise above 10C in town today and tomorrow.

It feels like we are getting our first taste of early spring, but of course it is too early for that. Hopefully we have be blessed with more blasts of winter in the coming weeks.

Monday should be colder with the chance of some snow.

With the sunny weather forecast (and it being mid-February, of course), the popular ski areas will probably be very busy this weekend.
