Is it really March?! This last week really has transformed things and of course in a good way.
Yesterday we got a lot of snow during the day and often white-out and windy conditions out on the mountains.
Another 30cm or so of snow to move off the car this morning and resorts around town also reporting about the same; Kagura up to 40cm. This last run of days has been more like mid season than the beginning of spring. It's great to see all of the official snow depth numbers jumping up as well - even Kagura at last have increased their ever-present '330cm'! Hurray!
The sun has been out this morning. It has actually been clouding a bit since the clearer skies of early on and local forecasts still have today down as a mix of cloud and snow. For now though it's still sunny over Yuzawa and there is quite a lot of blue sky on view too.
A light wind at the moment but a chance of stronger gusts higher later. All resorts appear to be open as planned for now though.
Conditions should be great pretty much everywhere this morning and with things being rather quiet there should be lots of untouched wherever you choose to slide.
Very nice.
In a few days time, things are set to warm up a bit. Hopefully that won't go and spoil things!
