It was a beautiful day yesterday. Lots of blue sky, hardly any wind. It warmed up a bit in the afternoon though not too much.
By evening a few clouds were coming in and we were hearing on the news that the region might get up to 60cm of snowfall overnight! It seemed unlikely though it was snowing late night and we do have snow to report this morning. Nowhere near as much as 60cm, but 15-20cm or so in town and resorts reporting up to 20cm so a fairly decent refresh I would expect on the slopes.
A fairly moderate wind outside at the moment and I see that operations at Kagura are being affected by stronger winds higher up - the Tashiro area is closed for the day with only the Mitsumata Ropeway to Kagura Number 1 Romance lift open this morning. All other resorts appear to be open as normal.
With snow continuing to fall now it looks like in a big contrast to yesterday, visibility is generally poor out there. Snowfall due to ease off by early tomorrow morning. Hopefully less wind tomorrow too so Kagura can fully open.
