Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this seas 914cm

Posted on Tuesday 10th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

The clouds did clear up yesterday morning and the sun came out. Some cloud did remain but it was a fine day weather-wise.

We have had a dusting of snow overnight, though it's in the mm (rather than cm). Adding in the mm that we got post-report yesterday, I can just about justify the 1cm in this report. Perhaps some more cm in higher elevations again (?)

Forecasts tell us to expect some snow during the day today. (And it is indeed snowing lightly in places). Onegai shimasu!

Tomorrow might just be a cloudy day with clearer skies currently forecast for Thursday.

We probably can't expect much fresh snow going forward, but temperatures not rising much would be a big help in us keeping what we have.
