Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this seas 917cm
Posted on Wednesday 11th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
We did get snow falling yesterday in town - at times very light, at times somewhat heavier. It didn't end up with much in terms of new accumulation and the roads have remained clear, but with another dusting overnight on top of the car I can add 3cm to this report. Hopefully some more than that in the mountains.
This morning starts with grey cloud cover.
Forecasts differ regarding what to expect today - either largely cloudy for the whole day, or the clouds parting and us getting some sunshine this morning.
Happily it shouldn't warm up too much with a high of around +3C or +4C forecast for town.
Sun is expected tomorrow morning.
