Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this seas 858cm

Posted on Tuesday 10th February 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

Morning from Yuzawa.

It has been fine and sunny since early on this morning with just a bit of thin cloud around. It was quite cold early on but starting to warm up a bit now.

The snow reported today is from yesterday morning.

Tomorrow is going to be back to... precipitation. Hopefully of the snowy kind but some forecasts indicate the chance of some rain during the day.

Tomorrow is a national holiday. (Perhaps that explains why some ski areas look busier than usual for a weekday than usual this morning).
