A bit of a damp morning but largely just cloudy early on.
Kandatsu is still aiming to open on Friday (12th December), perhaps relying on fresh snow before opening time.
In other news, delayed from its original planned opening date, Joetsu Kokusai is now saying that it plans to open on Saturday.
Saturday is also the planned opening date of Yuzawa Kogen and Naeba, but there's no specific news about those potential openings just yet.
Friday is going to be an important day (for the above ski areas in particular) as snow is forecast from late night Thursday into Friday. Let's hope there's enough.
Beyond that, of course, as we approach the middle of December we are looking for more consistent snowfall.
Many ski areas in the region hope to be able to open in about 10 days.
