Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 40cm

Posted on Saturday 2nd December 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Yakebitaiyama has one lift open this morning as the gradual opening continues.

Tannenomoro Okojo, the area between Mammoth and Ichinose Family, is also now open according to the official site. (Update: Sorry, I don't know if that is true... it is since showing as 'closed' on the official site. Unconfirmed.)

It is snowing at the moment though we probably won't get much in terms of cm. Beyond tomorrow, at least the first part of the coming week will probably be clearer skies with a good share of sunshine. It might be next weekend before we can expect the new snowfall.

The official Shiga Kogen opening ceremony will be happening at 10am at Takamagahara.
