Snowfall at base this season 861cm
Posted on Friday 25th April 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.
We are about to start the famous Golden Week holiday period.
Latest forecasts seem to show some variable conditions (possibly even some light snow in higher places!) but hopefully some nice weather too.
Tomorrow should be fine and sunny and perhaps Sunday, too.
The remaining ski areas will probably get quite busy on the main holidays.
The Route 292 road connecting Shiga Kogen with Gunma is now open. However, the section connecting to Kusatsu is closed due to a snow slide. You can still access Shiga Kogen via Gunma, but for the time being need to use the Manza Onsen Highway (toll) road.
