Good morning from Shiga Kogen.
We got some more fresh snow yesterday from around lunchtime onwards. Yakebitaiyama were reporting 20cm early morning.
And this morning we are back to some clearer skies. It's a very fine morning and through tomorrow we might get some relatively mild conditions.
OK, some ski area news at last!
Nishidateyama is open from this morning (the lower section anyway), with the quad lift operating.
And from tomorrow, more of Shiga Kogen will be opening up.
Sun Valley, Maruike, Ichinose Diamond, Ichinose Yamanokami, Bunadaira, Higashidateyama and the Shiga Kogen Resort Gondola will all be open from Saturday morning. Hurray!
It remains to be seen how 'connected' it all will be.
But, essentially, that will only leave a few of the areas of Shiga Kogen left to open.
With some heavy snow looking likely still from Saturday night and continuing for a few days, I'd say the chance of everywhere being open and connected for Christmas is pretty good. Fab!
