Another large amount of snow since yesterday after some clearer periods during the daytime.


It is really snowing heavily right now.


Very early morning Yakebitaiyama was reporting 40cm; the tourism office is giving a big range of numbers (20cm at Hasuike and 70cm at Okushiga Kogen).


Very limited visibility and... well, you've got to be committed to the cause to be out in these conditions!


The heavy snow/wind conditions might generally have eased off by Friday bit there is still a chance that there is some snow over the weekend. It will surely be calmer, though.


"How can there be 70cm of snowfall and the official snow depth number remains unchanged", someone asks. It seems unlikely, right? I think you need to ask the ski areas about that!
