Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 624cm

Posted on Tuesday 17th February 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

We have had a little snow overnight but the sun is out now and it's a lovely morning. Quite cold again.

There is some fresh snow expected tomorrow later on - tomorrow night? - but beyond that we will likely return to more sun and clearer skies.

Sunday looking a bit warm once again.

I'm looking forward to (hopefully) being able to talk about another period of snow sometime soon. For now, let's hope tomorrow night gives us a nice refresh.
