Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 636cm

Posted on Thursday 19th February 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Morning.

We had some strong winds but it seems to be less so now. We also have fresh snow, varying depending on where you are but I'd say 10-20cm is representative after driving up to Kumanoyu earlier on. It is still snowing so hopefully we'll get some more.

Yakebitaiyama were reporting 15cm very early morning.

The wind might still affect some lifts this morning and there is some limited visibility out there.

Clear skies and calmer conditions due tomorrow through Monday. Sunday will probably be the warmest.
