Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 36cm
Snowfall at base this season 350cm

Posted on Tuesday 11th February 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Shiga Kogen.

Ahhhh, mid-winter. Don't you just love it. Well, I know I do.

This morning Kumanoyu are reporting 30cm of snowfall since last night. Yakebitaiyama are reporting 40cm.

I have measured 36cm myself.

Wind has been blowing about and so there's going to be more/less in places, but I reckon that is a fair number. Wind does not seem to be affecting any lifts at the moment.

So wrap up well and enjoy.

The snow should ease off later today and then perhaps we'll see some sun tomorrow.

All areas and connections at Shiga Kogen are now open (with just a few minor exceptions).
