Good morning from Nozawa.
There's another 6cm of snow to report from the yesterday morning and the resort is reporting 5-7cm with none further overnight.
I had an amazing morning enjoying some excellent conditions and had a chance to meet a few like-minded folk visiting from overseas. They seemed happy with their Nozawa experience.
This morning as expected it is calm and cloudy with grey clouds all around. There's a chance of snow later on this afternoon or this evening and then snow is forecast to be falling throughout the day tomorrow --- potentially heavy snow. I would expect some good numbers once again in my reports tomorrow and/or Saturday. There's a chance there'll be a moderate wind tomorrow but hopefully not enough to mess about with lift operations.
Fresh snow reported by resort since yesterday morning:
- Yamabiko: 5cm
- Uenotaira: 7cm
- Hikage: 7cm
- Nagasaka: 7cm
- Karasawa: 5cm
Official snow depths:
- Yamabiko: 365cm
- Uenotaira: 260cm
- Hikage: 200cm
- Nagasaka: 195cm
- Karasawa: 150cm
Lifts operations:
- All lifts apart from the following lifts are operating
- Yunomine pair
- Mizunashi pair
- Challenge pair
- Utopia pair
Most courses at Nozawa Onsen are open. Courses not open are:
