New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 430cm
Posted on Sunday 9th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
Some of the images coming from Tokyo and surrounding areas are interesting - all that snow! Of course, those people aren't used to the snow and causes all sorts of problems. Take care out there on the roads! On the other hand, of course, we always want that snow where we are here in Nozawa.
Yesterday it was snowing all day and we got up to another 20cm or so on all but the base areas of the mountain, and this morning there's another 10cm being reported on Yamabiko and 5cm on Uenotaira areas.
Conditions up there today should be great once again. People on the first lifts in particular in for a treat.
The snow has eased off since last night and it's just a cloudy morning. Fog being reported on the top area. It's around -3 degrees at the moment here in the village.
Perhaps more snow overnight tonight, then it looks like the coming week might be somewhat drier and clearer. But hopefully keep cold.
Should be a good day.
