A good old traditional 30cm or so of fresh snow here in Nozawa this morning. (Conveniently allowing me to and perhaps cheekily sweep away the less than fab weather we got in the afternoon yesterday. Naughty).
20-35cm of fresh is being reported by the ski area and my measurement here at base is 28cm.
It is -3C now and snowing lightly. Naski has been out for 30 minutes or so and is currently proudly wearing a light dusting 'snow hat'.
We are forecast snow through the day today and tomorrow, with the heaviest over that period due tonight.
It looks like the Kamoshika course is closed this morning and the Rinkan course is going to be closed for an undetermined time today as they do some checks over there.
Fresh snowfall recorded by the resort (since yesterday morning):
- Yamabiko (1407m): 25cm
- Uenotaira (1230m): 35cm
- Hikage (660m): 30cm
- Nagasaka (615m): 30cm
- Karasawa (563m): 20cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
- Yamabiko (1407m): 280cm
- Uenotaira (1230m): 240cm
- Hikage (660m): 175cm
- Nagasaka (615m): 170cm
- Karasawa (563m): 145cm
All courses apart from the following plan to be open:
- Yunomine A
- Grand Prix
- Kamoshika
- Kandahar area not open to the public this season
Ski lift information:
- The following lifts are normally rested on weekdays:
- Utopia pair, Challenge pair, Yunomine pair and Mizunashi triple
- The Kandahar area is not open to the public this season
- The Shinyu pair lift will be closed for the remainder of the season due to obstruction by fallen tree
