Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 25cm
Snowfall at base this season 585cm

Posted on Friday 7th March 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

I bring good news.

Lots more snow here in Nozawa with another.... well, let's list it up. Since yesterday morning:

Yamabiko - 35cm

Uenotaira - 55cm

Hikage - 30cm

Nagasaka - 30cm

Karasawa - 25cm

Yes, the resort is reporting 5cm in the daytime yesterday and 50cm overnight on the Uenotaira area.

:)

What's more, the sun is out at the moment. It should be a fantastic morning for those lucky enough to be able to get some of the first lifts up this morning.

We're actually due snow on and off through the day today and the same tomorrow as well (and the same Sunday as well), so not sure if this clearing of the skies will last but another refill before the weekend crowds arrive would make it quite possibly one of the best weekends of the season.

Snow is on the forecast actually through until around Monday, so we're by no means done with this storm yet. Early March is being kind to us... thank you!

Yamabiko - 350cm

Uenotaira - 285cm
