Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 278cm
Posted on Monday 7th January 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
Yesterday it was snowing during the day with 5cm on the ground by late afternoon and this morning the resort is reporting an additional 20cm of fresh snowfall on the top Yamabiko area with another 5cm down by base. My full measurement since yesterday morning is 10cm.
Looks like there is some kind of event happening at the Yunomine A course meaning it is not available to the general public. Other than that and the Kandahar and Grand Prix, all courses are available. On normal weekdays the Mizunashi triple, Challenge pair and Utopia pair lifts are usually rested but that doesn't affect the amount of terrain available.
Normal weekdays after a holiday period usually means that the courses will be relatively quiet today.
Hope you can be here to enjoy it.
