Not many words this morning.
You don't need many when you can report.... 50cm of fresh snow on the ground! That's from base to top (where there's even a bit more). The official numbers below include a few cm that were recorded yesterday afternoon - most of it came since then.
I just took a few measurements in my usual place and beyond and my number is 51cm.
I woke up and found myself saying something like 'Yes, this is Nozawa'.
It's still snowing and very cold. Care needs to be taken in these conditions with all that fresh snow. But there sure will be a lot of fun to be had.
Fresh snowfall recorded by resort since yesterday morning:
- Yamabiko (1407m): 60cm
- Uenotaira (1230m): 55cm
- Hikage (660m): 50cm
- Nagasaka (615m): 55cm
- Karasawa (563m): 50cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by resort):
- Yamabiko (1407m): 200cm
- Uenotaira (1230m): 175cm
- Hikage (660m): 110cm
- Nagasaka (615m): 95cm
- Karasawa (563m): 65cm
