New snowfall at base 25cm
Snowfall at base this season 391cm

Posted on Wednesday 5th January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

A bunch of different snowfall numbers from the ski area this morning, ranging from just 5cm (?!) at Karasawa to 45cm up top. 15cm of that at Yamabiko was during the day yesterday with another 30cm overnight.

It's a cloudy kind of morning with limited visibility on higher areas. I'm guessing some snow falling but nothing major.

Tomorrow we might well get to enjoy some clearer skies and some sunshine. It will be remaining cold, which is what we want, so due to be a great day. And probably not too many people around either.

Fresh snowfall recorded by the ski area (total since yesterday morning):

- Yamabiko (1615m): 45cm

- Uenotaira (1407m): 24cm

- Hikage (660m): 26cm

- Nagasaka (616m): 14cm

- Karasawa (563m): 5cm

- Karasawa (563m): 140cm
