Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 566cm

Posted on Thursday 4th February 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

It's a chilly start to the day and the sun is out. And... blue skies! And just a dusting of snow being reported by the ski area since yesterday morning and indeed it did ease off.

So there's clear skies right now but snow clouds are due to be with us again later on, possibly even during the morning, and they might also come with some blowy winds. With snow due today and overnight, come tomorrow the sun might be back...and on Saturday too.

The Hikage Gondola is all genki and starting the day today.

Naski is genki too. And so am I. Hope you are too. :)

Fresh snowfall recorded by the resort (since yesterday morning):

- Yamabiko (1407m): 0cm

- Uenotaira (1230m): 1cm

- Hikage (660m): 0cm

- Nagasaka (615m): 0cm

- Karasawa (563m): 0cm
