Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 701cm
Posted on Thursday 3rd February 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
Some fresh snow across the mountain since yesterday morning, but much more at higher elevations... just a bit down at base areas. It's still snowing and there's more due today and across the next few days -- the heaviest still looks due to be with us over the weekend.
Chilly for sure but not too cold this morning and just a light wind.
I have moved the 'Rested lifts' bit to the list below. It will, of course, continue to be monitored each morning.
Fresh snowfall recorded by the ski area (total since yesterday morning):
- Yamabiko (1615m): 25cm
- Uenotaira (1407m): 26cm
- Hikage (660m): 5cm
- Nagasaka (616m): 5cm
- Karasawa (563m): 5cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
- Yamabiko (1615m): 350cm
