Snowy greetings from Nozawa.
Lots of snow since yesterday!
The ski area is this morning saying that there has been a whopping 75cm of snowfall on the top Yamabiko area since yesterday afternoon. And 6cm during the day before that. Yikes!
A bit mad, isn't it. Days of no snow and then crazy amounts all at once. Not complaining though! (Well, not about the crazy amounts).
It should be pretty deep feeling out there this morning.
Generally calm weather for the weekend, it would seem, to be followed by more potentially heavy snow from Tuesday.
Fresh snowfall since yesterday morning (as reported by the ski area):
Yamabiko: 81cm
Uenotaira: 55cm
Hikage: 50cm
Nagasaka: 50cm
Karasawa: 30cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
Yamabiko: 300cm
Uenotaira: 255cm
Hikage: 195cm
Nagasaka: 190cm
Karasawa: 145cm
