Good morning from Nozawa and the first day of the 13/14 season.

We have been gifted with 10cm of fresh snow on the top Yamabiko area and the sun is out for opening. It was cold overnight but will be warming up today to maybe 5 degrees - at the moment is it +3. It was -3 degrees at Yamabiko as of 10am. There's hardly any wind so it's all calm for the big day.

Snow has fallen overnight here in the village as well - not a huge amount, but enough to give make everything look nice and white again and get everyone totally in the mood.
