Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

We have that early morning cloud around lower base areas, but it is sunny above that... it is a fine start to the morning with mostly blue sky.


More snow is due is later in the day and maybe as early as before noon.


So I will have another layer to report to you tomorrow. Yey.


Fresh snowfall reported by the ski area at 7am (since yesterday morning):

- Yamabiko: 11cm

- Uenotaira: 8cm

- Hikage: 5cm

- Nagasaka: 5cm

- Karasawa: 5cm


Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):

- Yamabiko: 260cm

- Uenotaira: 220cm

- Hikage: 185cm

- Nagasaka: 180cm

- Karasawa: 130cm


All lifts now normally operating except these lifts:

- All lifts opening as planned for the weekend


All courses are now open except the following:

- Yunimine A

- Challenge 39

- Grandprix

- Kandahar (restrictions)

- Kamoshika


Planned night skiing (Nagasaka quad):

- Every Saturday until 25th March 2023
