New snowfall at base 24cm
Snowfall at base this season 640cm

Posted on Saturday 29th January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Hello to you all and good morning from Nozawa.

There's a bunch of snow to report this morning. The ski area itself has reported 35-41cm of snow on the upper areas since yesterday morning (30cm of that since late afternoon). Nice. Lower down on the mountain there's been snow too, around 25cm give or take. Sounds like there should be some fine tracks to be had this morning.

There should be more snow especially tonight and during the day tomorrow. It's certainly not warm, but it has not been mid-winter bone-shaking cold over recent days down here in the village. Currently -2C at base and -9C up top according to the ski area.

Rested lifts today: Challenge pair, Utopia pair, Karasawa pair.

Fresh snowfall recorded by the ski area (total since yesterday morning):

- Yamabiko (1615m): 35cm

- Uenotaira (1407m): 41cm

- Hikage (660m): 25cm

- Nagasaka (616m): 25cm

- Karasawa (563m): 15cm

Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):

- Yamabiko (1615m): 335cm

- Uenotaira (1407m): 290cm

- Hikage (660m): 270cm

- Nagasaka (616m): 265cm

- Karasawa (563m): 180cm

All courses apart from the following plan to be open:

- Yunomine A

- Grand Prix

Planned operating lifts (this is general info - for any specifics see top report):
