Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 857cm

Posted on Thursday 28th March 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

This morning while we have not much more than a dusting down here at base areas, the resort is reporting 15cm of fresh snowfall on the top areas. I expect it will be the wet and heavy kind, but who are we to complain. Rather, celebrate! It felt less positive overnight with rain and rather stormy weather conditions, so a nice surprise to hear about that 15cm.

Expect to see the sun again tomorrow but there's more snow due beyond that.

It's certainly an interesting last part of March we are experiencing this year.
