Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 185cm

Posted on Sunday 24th January 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

After a clearer start earlier on, snow has started to fall this morning and it's really coming down now as I write this at 9am.

Nozawa-like snowfall. (That's a very good thing).

Visibility on the mountain this morning looks very poor and so conditions this morning are for those who like getting out in heavy snow conditions... not for everyone!

I hope to bring you news of some large numbers tomorrow morning.

Clearer skies likely Tuesday and Wednesday so they should be excellent days to be here.

Half pipe fans -- head up to the Uenotaira area for some half-pipe action.
