Snowfall at base this season 931cm

Posted on Sunday 23rd February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Sunday morning greetings from Nozawa.

Anyone else get to meet Naski yesterday? What a fine vegetable! Bright green, too.

OK so yes, we have around 30cm snowfall at base since yesterday morning and over 50cm being reported up top by the ski area.

Sounds typical Nozawa-y and we are happy.

There is more snow due today and tomorrow, perhaps not huge numbers, to be followed by the clearer skies that the region is going to have from Tuesday onwards.

For now, though, it's still very cold and there's lots of delightfully light fresh snow out there to enjoy.

Fresh snowfall since yesterday (daytime + overnight) as reported by the ski area:

Yamabiko: 26cm + 26cm

Uenotaira: 19cm + 30cm

Hikage: 20cm + 6cm

Nagasaka: 20cm + 6cm

Karasawa: 10cm + 3cm

Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):

Yamabiko: 440cm

Uenotaira: 390cm

Hikage: 315cm

Nagasaka: 315cm

Karasawa: 230cm
