Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 600cm

Posted on Saturday 22nd January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Cloud start this morning. Contrasting forecasts today but it's all a mix of cloud and sun. And the same for tomorrow too actually.

Rested lifts today: Skyline connecting pair, Challenge pair, Utopia pair, Nagasaka quad, Karasawa pair. Pretty much all open apart from Yunomine A, Grand Prix and Kamoshika.

Hey it's the weekend in January. Peak season and usually very busy. I wonder how many people will be here. With covid looming on the news, I have heard of groups being cancelled and the like. I feel generally people are just going on with their lives, perhaps less concerned than they have been in previous 'waves', but still being careful. Naski is out and looking very green and cheerful (as always). Lets hope everyone else can keep that way.

- Yamabiko (1615m): 12cm

- Uenotaira (1407m): 11cm

- Hikage (660m): 0cm (?)

- Nagasaka (616m): 5cm
